Historic Menger Hotel

Before Installation

Located steps from the Alamo in San Antonio, The Historic Menger Hotel reigns as the oldest continuously operating hotel west of the Mississippi. Inside the hotel, guests will find the Menger Bar, voted one of the Top 10 Most Historic Bars in the United States. Built in 1887 as an exact replica of London’s House of Lords Pub, the Menger Bar is rich in history, from the Alamo and Texas’ fight for independence to Theodore Roosevelt’s Rough Riders from the Spanish-American War.

When the hotel was renovated in 1932, Hunter’s “Hotel Fans” (H52’s) were installed in every room. Most recently, the Menger Bar had two outdated brass fans with tulip lights that were due for an upgrade.

After Installation

To continue the company’s longstanding partnership, Hunter installed two black Hunter Originals® in the Menger Bar. The vintage design of this commercial fan complements the historical interior of the Menger Bar and closely resembles the look of the “Hotel Fans” that were once installed in the hotel.

Built with Hunter’s SureSpeed® Guarantee, the Hunter Original delivers high airflow velocity while maintaining quiet, wobble-free performance. With three speed settings, the fan features a Limited Lifetime Motor Warranty backed by the only company with more than 135 years in the fan business.

“The fan installation was a breeze, and our bartenders are extremely happy to have Hunter’s beautiful, quiet fans to keep them cool throughout the year,” said Garvin O’Neil, General Manager of The Historic Menger hotel.
